This next one in my series of wedding planning tips is a fun one! As ladies, we certainly love beautiful details. I know my Pinterest boards are overflowing with pictures of little lovely things! Details add so much character to a wedding and make each one so personal and unique. It’s one of the ways you can express yourself as a bride and showcase your love as a couple. Details can go even beyond that and serve as symbols of love or in remembrance of people. That’s one reason I LOVE getting detail shots. As the bride looking for wedding planning tips, there is a simple thing you can do that will help your wedding photographer as they get beautiful detail photos on your wedding day.
Wedding Planning Tip #2 ~ Gather Special Details into a Detail Box
It might seem so simple, but it’s such a huge help! By bringing a box of things to the location where you are getting ready, so your photographer will have all the special, personal details in one place, ready to photograph. I love to photograph details first while my brides are getting their makeup done or their hair curled. Putting those beautiful pictures at the beginning of the wedding gallery sets the tone for the wedding and adds a splash of character and personality right at the start! Gather your details together before your wedding day and simply give the box to your photographer.
So what can you put in your “detail box”?
- Wedding Shoes
- Ceremony Program & Wedding Stationary
- Engagement Ring & Wedding Rings (His & Hers)
- Wedding Ring Box
- Favorite Engagement Picture
- Ribbon in your Wedding Colors
- Personal items that show your character, hobbies, or likes
- Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue
Anything that is personal and special to you, your relationship, and your wedding is a great addition to your detail box. Your photographer is there for you, to capture what is important to you. Having everything together is just a great way to save on time, make it easy to get photos of your details, and it can also be a fun activity to complete before your wedding day.
