We had Lindy and Matt’s engagement session in downtown Roanoke at the beginning of December. It was the first time for me getting to photograph an engagement session in downtown Roanoke, and it did not disappoint! It’s so much bigger than I imagined, and there were many different places to get some great pictures. Nostalgia was a fun theme of their session, as we took pictures at many locations that were key in their first days of meeting each other! We started at Roanoke’s Elmwood Park where Matt and Lindy first locked eyes on each other during an outdoor concert. It was where Matt approached Lindy and their love story began. Walking around for their session in downtown Roanoke was a fun day of stopping at various locations to take romantic and fun pictures. Jake and I enjoyed capturing the love between Lindy and Matt, which is very apparent. They are silly together, fun, and lovingly connected. They love each other dearly, and it’s so heart warming. Some of the other places we stopped for nostalgia’s sake was Sidewinder’s where they went dancing, the street where Lindy and her friend cheered for Matt as he ran a race, and our final stop at the Roanoke Star. As the evening drew on and the sun set, we got some amazing pictures of Matt and Lindy with the sunset and with the beautiful overlook behind them. I love that they chose to go with two different outfits for their engagement session. It always adds some extra interest and variety to the collection of images I send. They did an awesome job and both looked great! The weather got much colder at the end of the night, but they didn’t even mind. Their engagement session in downtown Roanoke was just such a nice time. It made Jacob and I even more excited about photographing their wedding together in April. These two are meant to be!!
