This past Christmas, I hosted a Christmas Giveaway for a free mini session. The Gardner Family were the very special family to win the session, and I’m so glad they did! Mom, Melanie and Dad, Ray have the most adorable daughter. Her name is Gray and she was so much fun during our session at Lynchburg’s Old City Cemetery! The pretty, flowery dress Melanie chose for Gray was perfect for the beautiful spring weather we had. As a Lynchburg family photographer, I’ve always wanted to take some pictures at this location. The landscaping is lovely at the Old City Cemetery. I also loved the idea of taking some of the Gardner’s family pictures with the wooden swing across from the church. The abundant greenery in the landscaping was nice for their pictures as well. Even with many of the trees having not bloomed yet, the evergreens provided plenty of nice backdrops and color. Also, their session was in the morning, so the sunlight back-lit some of their portraits beautifully.
Gray had no issue with shyness when it came to the camera. She was all smiles and energetic. One of the benefits of planning the session between waking up and her nap time! It was so cute how I would say, “Smile, Gray!” and she would give me a huge, cheesy smile, at which point, Mom would say, “Soft smile. Not a big one. Do a soft smile.” She was just precious!
The Gardner family is really a special little family, and Gray is just beautiful. I loved getting to meet them. This mini session was so much fun that I can’t wait for Christmas time to roll around again for another session giveaway!
