Diana and Thomas’ Bear Creek Lake State Park engagement session was a ton of fun. They are such a sweet couple, and I feel so lucky to be able to photograph their wedding! I’m excited to show some of the highlights from their session and tell a little bit of their story.
Diana and Thomas worked together at the same school and were destined to be. Several members of the English department could see it and worked to get them together. Over the summer Diana moved to another school, but they were reunited again working on a project Diana had for one of her grad classes. Thomas asked for computer help to set up his class, and offered to buy dinner as a thank you at a sushi place.
Thomas had attempted to put together plans to propose to Diana, but each time, the plan fell through. But this past Thanksgiving Day, Diana and Thomas spent the holiday at her family’s house setting up the Christmas tree and enjoying family time together. Thomas could even better imagine spending every holiday with Diana after that and couldn’t wait any longer to propose. Diana said yes, and now they will be getting married in June!
I loved their engagement session. Bear Creek Lake State Park had a pretty waterfall going over the dam and a bridge that gave us some pretty spots to take pictures, despite the fact that the trees in the park had not really begun to bloom for spring yet. Thomas and Diana love traveling and enjoy spending quality time together. It was so adorable to have their sweet dog, Yankee be a part of their engagement photos!
Thomas and Diana were such good sports and jumped right in when I told them I had an idea for pictures. To get the pictures of them together on the rocks by the dam, we had to climb down some pretty steep steps to get there! I was also excited that they decided to take me up on my suggestion of bringing a secondary outfit to add some variety to their photos. Transitioning from casual to dressy is always a great way to make the engagement session more fun and exciting.
Diana and Thomas are such a great couple, and I am very excited about photographing their wedding this June. Here are a few more pictures from their engagement session. And a bonus at the end as we were wrapping up the day, Yankee was amazing and let us balance Diana’s beautiful engagement ring on his head!
