Ashley and Devon both work in emergency services, with Ashley as a firefighter and Devon as a medic. Their engagement session at Peaks of Otter Lodge was fun and sweet. I love how they personalized their photos by bringing along Ashley’s firefighter helmet and Devon’s stethoscope, their jerseys, and a personalized pillow. It was great to get to incorporate these into their photos and use them for engagement ring shots as well. We planned this engagement session at Peaks of Otter Lodge to give Ashley and Devon a different landscape feel than they have around where they live. It was a good thing that we took pictures near the water at the beginning of the session because they wanted to get some of the peak in their photos, and as the day went on, the heavy fog grew even heavier to where you couldn’t even see the water! It was crazy how the weather and the bugs created challenges, but in the end, it didn’t even really matter! Ashley and Devon embraced their engagement session fully and we got some amazing pictures of these two! After getting pictures by the lake and peak, we crossed the road and crossed into the beautiful field across from the lodge. One of my favorite things to do for engagement sessions is to offer that the couple bring a change of clothes to add variety to their photos with an outfit change. I love the colors they chose, especially the beautiful burgundy shirt Ashley wore to bring in some of those fall colors! These two were up for anything and didn’t mind walking all around and jumping the fence to take pictures in the field. Ashley and Devon are full of life and make a great couple. I’m very excited to photograph their wedding in March of next year!!
